About the American Legion Auxiliary
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 200 is the women's organization associated with American Legion Post 200. Its members are mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, and granddaughters of veterans who dedicate themselves to service to veterans, military, and their families — and to our community in Wallis, Texas.
ALA President

The ALA Unit President leads the American Legion Auxiliary at Post 200, presiding over meetings, directing unit programs, and representing women veterans and their families in the Wallis community. The President champions the ALA mission of service to veterans, military, and their families.
ALA 1st Vice President

The ALA 1st Vice President supports the Unit President and assumes unit leadership in the President's absence. A primary focus of this role is membership — recruiting new ALA members and retaining existing ones — to strengthen the unit's capacity for service to veterans and their families.
ALA 2nd Vice President

The ALA 2nd Vice President assists with unit programs, with a focus on youth activities, community outreach, and event coordination. This officer helps plan and promote unit activities that fulfill the ALA mission throughout the Wallis area.
ALA Secretary

The ALA Secretary maintains the unit's official records, handles correspondence, prepares meeting minutes, and reports membership data to the Department of Texas. The Secretary is the administrative backbone of the Auxiliary unit and ensures all records are accurate and current.
ALA Treasurer

The ALA Treasurer manages unit finances, maintains accurate financial records, processes dues and expenditures, and provides regular financial reports to the membership. The Treasurer ensures responsible stewardship of unit funds dedicated to veterans service programs.
ALA Parliamentarian

The ALA Parliamentarian advises the unit on proper parliamentary procedures, Robert's Rules of Order, and the interpretation of the ALA constitution and bylaws. This officer ensures all meetings and elections are conducted in an orderly and lawful manner befitting our organization.
ALA Historian

The ALA Historian documents the activities, programs, and milestones of the Auxiliary unit through photographs, scrapbooks, and written records. This officer preserves the legacy of the women who serve veterans and their families through the American Legion Auxiliary.
ALA Chaplain

The ALA Chaplain provides spiritual comfort and support to unit members and their families, opening and closing meetings with prayer, and offering pastoral care during times of illness or bereavement. The Chaplain ensures a spirit of reverence and compassion in all unit activities.
ALA Sergeant-at-Arms

The ALA Sergeant-at-Arms maintains order during unit meetings and assists with the dignity and flow of ceremonies and events. This officer ensures that meetings are conducted respectfully and that the unit's traditions are upheld with honor.
ALA Americanism Chair

The ALA Americanism Chair promotes love of country, patriotic education, and civic engagement through programs that honor veterans and inspire future generations. This includes flag education, Constitution and Citizenship programs, and other patriotic initiatives that strengthen our community.
ALA Children & Youth Chair

The ALA Children & Youth Chair coordinates programs designed to nurture the well-being, character, and potential of children — especially those in military families. These programs support youth in need and help build a stronger community for the next generation of Americans.
ALA VA&R Chair

The ALA VA&R Chair leads the unit's Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation programs, visiting veterans in VA hospitals and care facilities, providing comfort items, and advocating for the needs of hospitalized and disabled veterans and their caregivers in our community.
ALA Education Chair

The ALA Education Chair oversees scholarships, educational grants, and academic programs that invest in the futures of veterans, their children, and eligible students. This officer helps connect deserving young people with educational opportunities supported by the ALA.
ALA Poppy Chair

The ALA Poppy Chair leads the annual Poppy program — one of the ALA's most visible outreach efforts — to honor fallen veterans and raise funds for veterans' welfare programs. The red poppy serves as a living memorial to those who gave their lives in service to our country.

ALA Constitution & Bylaws Chair

The ALA Constitution & Bylaws Chair reviews and interprets the unit's governing documents, proposes updates as needed, and ensures the unit operates in compliance with ALA policies. This officer is the guardian of the unit's organizational integrity and rules of governance.
