We have put our own events next to the City Council meeting schedule in a single calendar, so you can see the month ahead in one place.
Two kinds of entry, marked differently
This is the part worth understanding before you rely on it.
Post 200 events are records. Somebody entered them, they have their own page, and they are as confirmed as anything on this site gets.
Council meetings are projections. They are worked out from the City's published third-Wednesday-at-six pattern. Nobody has confirmed that any particular one will be held. Those rows carry a "Scheduled" label and send you to City Hall for the agenda, because a calendar that sends somebody to a locked building has failed at the one job it had.
What is on regularly
- Bingo — every Thursday at the Post 200 hall, starting at 4:30 PM. Open to everyone.
- Officer meetings — first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM.
- City Council — third Wednesday at 6:00 PM at City Hall, subject to the caveat above.
Dances, fundraisers and ceremonies appear as they are scheduled. Times shift around holidays, so check the events page before setting out.
What the calendar does not cover
It is not everything happening in Wallis, and we do not pretend otherwise. For the school year, holidays and athletics, Brazos ISD keeps its own calendar. For business events, mixers and the annual town celebrations, the Chamber of Commerce keeps one. The City publishes its own notices. We link to all three rather than copying them badly.
Running something in town?
If you are putting on something in Wallis that belongs on this page, tell us. We will check it and add it. We only list what we can stand behind, which is why the page is shorter than it could be.
Common Questions
- What is happening in Wallis, Texas this month?
- Our community calendar lists American Legion Post 200 events — weekly Thursday bingo, monthly officer meetings, dances and fundraisers — alongside the City Council meeting schedule. It is not a complete list of everything happening in town.
- Is there bingo in Wallis, Texas?
- Yes. American Legion Post 200 runs bingo every Thursday at 330 Legion Rd, starting at 4:30 PM. Everyone is welcome and you do not need to be a member.
- Where can I find the Brazos ISD school calendar?
- Brazos ISD publishes its own calendar for the school year, holidays and athletics at brazosisd.net. We link to it rather than duplicating it.
